Position: Full-time Maintenance Specialist
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Summary: The Maintenance Specialist performs needed repairs and facility improvements at Keauhou Shelter. Ability to work under minimal supervision is required.

Qualifications and abilities:

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in repair and maintenance work, including 1 year of experience working with plumbing and electrical work.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned tasks independently.

General Duties include but are not limited to:

• Facility Repairs & Improvements: Execute routine shelter maintenance, facility upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure a safe, operational environment. [1]
• Vendor & Service Coordination: Source outside contractors, coordinate specialized repairs, and manage service payments and vendor relationships efficiently.
• Operations & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee daily functionality of essential shelter infrastructure, ensuring laundry facilities and specialized machinery operate properly.
• Safety Committee Representation: Act as the department representative for the Waikiki Health safety committee, strictly enforcing site safety protocols and regulations.
• Compliance & Administrative Support: Partner with the Housing First Manager to ensure full facility compliance while maintaining strict client confidentiality at all times.
• Other duties as assigned
