Human Resources Assistant
Position: Full-time Human Resources Assistant
Pay Rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Overview: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR activities throughout the agency. A primary responsibility of this position is to protect and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of highly sensitive personnel information.
Qualifications and Abilities:
- Associate’s degree preferred
- At least one year of clerical/administrative experience
- Demonstrated relevant work experience may be substituted for education requirement
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and accept and benefit positively from direct supervision

General Duties (including but not limited to):
- Assist with hiring activities, including references checks, background screenings for new employees (OIG, Sex Offender, GSA, E-Crim)
- Responsible for new hire and Job Training Participants orientations
- Organize and maintain HR records, including personnel files (current and terminated), I-9 files, leave records, EEO, employee training records
- Coordinates employee recruitment and hiring activities, including advertising, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks
- Organizes and maintains employee health records; verifies new hire/interns/residents/temps/contractors health clearance prior to start date and annually
- Perform other duties as assigned
